Procrastinicity in Liminal Spaces

B weird

In comfort of twilight

caught between

unfolding dreams

and missed opportunities

coffee makes

waking worthwhile

water and grounds at the ready

Who will push the button?

Vividly smelling a new day brewing

Much to do today

first one more dream

music muddies the scene

dead as driftwood until

shouts and shots

break the plane between

what I missed

and reality

Rewind

Responsibilities grow, time shrinks.

Borrowing late night to pay back yesterday

after unwinding the spool

acid melts the scene

this girl is gone

a high pitched scream

hissing and glowing

waking dead things

waking me

much too late

ah well, morning will inspire

Alarm snoozed

echoes intrude.

Repeated harsh persistence

reminding resistance is . . .

I finally submit

finding fantasy has

assimilated reality.

The collective noise is silenced

making sleep futile.

Never do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Or… something like that.

Beginning today doing what

I meant to do yesterday.

A tale of Mercy Brown brings

Victorian vampire dreams.

Sallow face and shallow frozen

consecrated earth.

Faintly tasting  blood

reason has bitten my tongue.

A Celtic cross strangles and burns

I am suddenly aware

of cool satin and course dirt.

Laundering the linens will cleanse unearthed nightmares

Ringing reaches deep.

A nasally voice speaks,

“You must deposit ten cents to continue.”

There is no coin slot

in which to drop a dime

disconnected and

searching for change

the ringing repeats

Awakened in late night’s glow

my stalker beams a love note,

“Are you still there?”

A loud buzzer breaks

the deafening silence.

The linens are dry.

A mattress devoid of clothing causes mixed feelings.

Once made with fresh linens

it's a shame to mess up.

So, I shuffle back to the couch

reply to my stalker

yes.

Synchronicity - the nature of meaningful coincidences

a book by Jung

Procrastinicity - the nature of disconnected meaningless coincidences

a book by no one

who would write it?

T.O.C.

  1. Read all obstructions

  2. Alcohol may intensify

  3. Never use empty

  4. Do not operate

  5. May cause loss of time

  6. Hallucinations may

  7. Consult physician if

  8. May cause insomnia

  9. May cause drowsiness

  10. May interfere with

It's probably important

but  lengthy and boring

Quite frankly,

who has the time?
